In April 2025, our dear friend Chris received life-changing news: he was diagnosed with Myeloma, a rare and aggressive form of bone marrow cancer. What started as severe back pain (originally thought to be a hernia), led to an MRI that revealed tumors pressing on his spine, causing vertebrae to collapse. This devastating diagnosis came as a shock to us all.

Chris is just 34 years old, turning 35 this June. He’s a husband, a son, a brother, and a proud uncle. He shares a beautiful life with his wife Eva, and while they don’t yet have children, it’s always been their dream. Chris works full time in a physically demanding role, but now he’s had to stop working altogether as he begins an intense journey through treatment.

Over the coming months, Chris will undergo chemotherapy, followed by a stem cell transplant that will keep him in the hospital for at least a month. Doctors anticipate nearly 10 months of treatment in total, with the goal of putting the cancer into remission. In the meantime, Chris and Eva are facing not only the emotional toll of this diagnosis but also the financial strain of lost income, unexpected expenses, and daily living costs.

If you know Chris, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up a room. He’s kind, funny, endlessly optimistic, and deeply respectful; a rare kind of man with a heart of gold. Whether he’s cracking jokes, training hard in the gym, jetting off abroad, or sharing coffee and conversation, Chris brings joy and warmth to everyone around him.

He’s not one to ask for help, but as his friend, I’m asking on his behalf.
