My mum has always been someone who gives to others without hesitation. Anyone who has the honour of knowing her will know she is one of the strongest, funniest, and most generous people you could ever meet. She shows her love through cooking for others, hosting family and friends, and always being the first to help anyone in need. I have not met anyone as selfless as her.

Recently, our family received the news that my mum has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. With this diagnosis comes many uncertainties and challenges. Allah is the Best of Planners, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing and I truly believe that Allah loves my mum dearly.

In honour of my mum we are hoping to build a Sadaqah Jariyah water well in a community that struggles to access clean water. In Islam, giving water is one of the most rewarding forms of charity. Every person who drinks from the well, washes with it, or benefits from it will bring continuous reward for my mum, insha’Allah.

Du’a for Shifa (healing)

‎اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ

‎إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَا

Transliteration: Allahumma Rabban-naas adhhibil-ba’sa washfi Antash-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uk shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa.

Translation: O Allah, the Lord of mankind, remove the difficulty and bring about healing as You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that will leave no ailment.
