Help Build a Healing Horse Arena for Vulnerable Youth in The County.
Hi, my name is Mandi Brohm, and I’m reaching out with a dream that has the power to change lives.
I’m raising funds to build a safe, outdoor horse riding arena in Prince Edward County, just outside Trenton, Ontario — a place where vulnerable youth living with disabilities or mental health challenges can experience the healing power of horses.
This project is deeply personal. I’ve seen firsthand how horses can reach kids when nothing else can. I’m on a mission to give these young people — many of whom have felt lost, anxious, or misunderstood — a space where they can feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Who This Program Is For
Children and teens under 18 living with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities
Youth struggling with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, and low self-esteem
Families looking for safe, nature-based therapeutic outlets for their children
This isn’t just about learning to ride — it’s about healing through connection, movement, responsibility, and love.

The Power of Horse Therapy
Research shows equine-assisted programs can help youth:
Improve emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence
Develop stronger communication and social skills
Reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD
Enhance sensory integration and motor control, especially for neurodiverse youth
Horses don’t judge. They don’t rush. They respond to authenticity and emotion — and that creates a deep space for transformation.

⚕️ Why Me? My Experience & Mission
For over a decade, I’ve worked in mental health and addictions, supporting individuals of all ages and abilities. I hold a Diploma in Developmental Services, and I’m proud to bring both clinical and compassionate care into this new chapter.
But that’s just one side of what I bring to this vision.
I have over 20 years of horse experience, including:
Certified Equine Bodyworker for 5 years, specializing in rehabilitation
Former owner/operator of a full-service equine boarding facility
Led a small show team, focusing on rider development and horse welfare
Taught children as young as 3 years old and adults up to 70, emphasizing safety, empathy, and respect for the horse
This program will bring all of my training, life experience, and heart together — to serve kids who need it most.

️ Where the Money Will Go
We are fundraising to install a fully fenced, outdoor riding arena on our farm in Prince Edward County. This includes:
All-weather riding surface and proper drainage
Safe perimeter fencing
Accessible mounting blocks and inclusive features
Shaded areas and seating for families/support workers
Materials and safety gear for therapeutic sessions
This space will be used exclusively for healing, learning, and connection — not commercial profit.
