Meet Boot, the sweetest senior tuxedo. Boot is a 12-year-old cat who has spent his life being a sweet and gentle soul. He spends his time bird watching, cuddling up in bed with mum each night, and enjoying the occasional gold fish cracker or cheese whiz when he's so lucky. Boot is very beloved by his family. He shares his home with my mother, his brother Spike, a grey tabby, and their friend Ray, a 3-year-old Belgian Groenendael.

Recently, Boot had a sudden health turn. He stopped eating, and a visit to the vet revealed a mass in his stomach near his intestines, likely a tumor. While we were quoted between $7,000 and $12,000 for surgery, it is simply beyond our reach. Instead, we are focusing on palliative care to manage his symptoms and the growth of the mass through medication.

Adding to our worry, Boot has recently started displaying neurological symptoms, including spinning in circles. Our vet suspects he may have suffered a stroke, a brain bleed, or is dealing with a brain tumor.

My mother has limited income due to disability, and has been spread thin financially by a tiny home build, so our financial resources are running out. We want to ensure Boot remains comfortable and receives the diagnostic care he deserves in his senior years.
