Help Benny Bring CHAMELEON to Life in the Fall

To my beloved community, friends, and supporters,

If you know me, you know that my life’s work is centered around filling the cups of others. Whether as a dance teacher, a community organizer, a mentor, or a cultural producer, I have dedicated my energy to building spaces where people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired. Today, I am stepping into a space of vulnerability and asking you to help fill mine.

My multidisciplinary dance project, Chameleon, was scheduled to premiere this month. Sadly, due to an unexpected injury, I had to make the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the project to September. While my body takes the time it needs to heal, my heart is deeply comforted by the immense grace and support I’ve already received from Velocity Dance Center, the Filipino Community of Seattle, and my incredible friends.

However, moving a production of this scale comes with a heavy financial cost. Postponing means navigating increased space rentals, a significant loss of personal income during recovery, and—most importantly to me—ensuring that my brilliant artistic collaborators are still paid fairly for their time and dedication.

To bridge this gap and bring Chameleon safely to the stage this fall, I am raising $6,000.

Art cannot be made in isolation. It requires a village. I have spent years cultivating creative spaces for our community, and now I need your help to bring this meaningful, impactful work to life. If my teaching, organizing, or mentorship has ever touched your life, or if you believe in the power of community-rooted art, please consider donating.

How you can support:
  • Donate: Every dollar goes directly toward production survival costs, rental spaces, and artist fees.
  • Share: Pass this link along to anyone who loves dance, culture, and community.

Thank you for holding me up while I heal, and thank you for filling my cup so I can continue to create for all of us. I cannot wait to share Chameleon with you this September.

With deep gratitude,
Benny
