Help Artist Marie Fox Create Her ~Dream Canvas~

My name is Marie Fox, and I am a painter working on a large-scale project that has been years in the making. For this GoFundMe, I am seeking to raise $2,000 to create an absolute BEAST of a painting.

The funds will allow me to commission a custom arched canvas from the esteemed company Upper Canada Stretchers. The arch is a recurring motif in my work, symbolizing a passageway to the sacred, a window into a holy space. This new piece will serve as a central, monumental painting in my ongoing series, Communion: Between Earth and Sky.

The canvas will measure 67.25” x 96”, built with a double layer of Baltic Birch for strength and durability–gallery-quality materials that elevate the work and ensure longevity. I’ve received a quote of approx $1,500 for the canvas, with the remaining funds going toward supplies for the painting itself.

Gratitude and History

Last summer, I was awarded the ArtsNB grant to begin this ambitious work. I could not have secured that grant without the generous support from a 2023 GoFundMe campaign, which helped with recovery from Long Covid and return to an artistic practice. I remain eternally grateful to all who contributed and shared. Thanks to that support, I was able to purchase canvases, collaborate with incredible models, and work on a whole new scale!

The Vision

The imagery is classically influenced, with an emphasis on feminine joy, feminine power, and the sacred. This painting will be the crowning piece of the series—a culmination of years of exploration.

I’ve already begun the preliminary work, and with your help, this vision can come to life.
