This is my story how I fell ill. I was a healthy 62 year old man. Started going to the gym every weekend and also worked 5 days a week 40 plus hours. Worked outside in my yard which I enjoyed. I also enjoyed riding my 1999 night train motorcycle with my buddies. I enjoyed my life until last year when I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I never knew what it could or would do to me in the long run, until one day before Christmas eve the year 2023 when I couldn't get off the couch I hurt so bad. I asked my wife to call the EMS to help us. That is when my nightmare began.
Admitted to the hospital had a bad infection inside my bowel basically broke inside all over and had to have some of my colon taken out. My abdomin basically cut in half. I never had surgery ever. So this was huge. Then a few weeks later I had to have another surgery for my bowel. Now I have a colostomy bag and can barely move. I am so weak from everything and infection after infection. I want to recover but it's hard. It's like starting life all over again. Walking and doing normal things are not easy.
It's been a month now and I am a rehab nursing home. Where I might not be able to stay. This journey is the hardest journey I had to do ever. But I have my family and friends supporting me.
