Anissa Cook needs help with son Jason Foster
Anissa Cook has been a friend of mine for years. She is one of the most supportive, encouraging, generous women I know. As single parents, we have often talked about being ready to assist our babies whenever they needed, even in their adult life. Well this moment has now come in the life of my dear friend. On April 1, there was no joke to be played. Anissa received some of the worst news any parent could receive about their child. Her son, and only child, Jason Foster, was in a serious motorcycle accident and was left paralyzed from the chest down.
In those first few days of these horrific accident, Jason has already endured 4 surgeries and as of now is receiving assistance with his breathing. With the diagnosis of being paralyzed, the doctors have stated it is a long journey through recovery which will include necessary rehabilitation and possibly long term care. Although we know the power of a healing God, we must stand in our faith but still do what is necessary to assist Jason in his fight. His words to his mother were, "Mom, I want to live." And at that moment, as any mother would, Anissa knew she had work to do.
Anissa, who is a Northwest Indiana resident had to drive to Atlanta, Georgia to be by her son's side as he began this long journey. No matter how old your child, there is nothing more heart wrenching then hearing your child call for their mother in their time of need. Jason, needs his mom there.
Although Jason, has been employed with a great job as a supervisor and has excellent benefits. His insurance will not cover even half of what is needed to give him proper care. Anissa, who works full time, is having to put her job on hold and stay in Atlanta to give her son the support he needs.
I am asking for support in helping Anissa in not only the medical care expenses for her son, but in helping her be able to stay in Atlanta to be with him as his only caregiver. With no family there, Anissa is incurring many expenses just trying to stay by his side (hotel, travel to and from hospital, food etc), still while having to make sure financial obligations in Northwest Indiana are met. No one should have to choose between caring for their child or losing their employment and home. Please assist me in making sure Anissa and Jason have what they need to help them through this journey.
Jason has already declared, HE WILL LIVE. So, I am asking if you can assist me in helping to relieve some of the financial burdens they are facing. I am asking that you help me in making sure that Jason has help with his medical expenses and that we can keep his mom in Atlanta with him, where he needs her the most. Every donation is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity and please share with your friends. God Bless You All and THANK YOU.
