I have set up this fundraiser to help desperate dogs and cats, homeless, alone, abused, hungry, forgotten, and fighting to survive on the streets of Serbia.

With that said, it was decided that donors must see the realities of the state of these animals when Subotičke njuškice (Subotica’s Snouts) find them. It's probably not the horror you expected and I'm sorry for this, but it's the reality.
From January 1, 2021, up to now (as I write this it is September 2021), Subotičke njuškice (Subotica's Snouts) have saved 150 dogs and 45 cats from the street.
All animals receive medical treatment (many times emergency care), grooming, housing, and food.
Also, since the start of the new year, 120 dogs and 25 cats have been neutered and spayed.
Everything from the time it takes to rescue and care for these animals to the transportation costs, medical, grooming, and food costs are taken on by volunteers and generous locals, both donating time, services, supplies, and money.
Subotičke njuškice (Subotica's Snouts animal shelter) is a non-profit, non-governmental (NGO) organization.

Because they are not funded by the government, many times, they fall short and are not able to pay even basic bills like housing and utility costs. Therefore, donations are an ongoing need.

Violeta Puzic and her team of volunteers at Subotičke njuškice (Subotica’s Snouts) work tirelessly, day & night rescuing, feeding, caring for and many times fostering dogs and cats in their own homes whilst desperately trying to find them loving families. Medical costs alone break them and leave them scrambling just to buy food, never mind the endless surgeries & treatments, housing, and transportation costs.

The angels who run this non-profit organization receive no money from their government, no grants, no subsidies, nothing.
They cover all the costs of surgeries and treatments, food, housing, and transportation out of their own pockets and by asking fellow angels like you for help.
Volunteers drive their own cars, roaming the streets at all hours, including after working long days at their job, searching for animals to save.
These poor, desperate animals are found everywhere — in abandoned houses, the middle of streets, in bushes with litters of cold, hungry babies, chained up outside empty houses, abandoned by owners and left with no food or water, and near dangerous roads to name a few.

I first came to learn of this animal shelter and its volunteers through a family member who asked if we could take a rescued dog into our home. Since adopting our dog from Subotičke njuškice (Subotica’s Snouts), I have traveled to Serbia from my home in Austria and watched firsthand as these beautiful souls dedicate their lives to rescuing dogs and cats. Since beginning this fundraiser, we have also taken in a rescued cat from Subotičke njuškice (Subotica’s Snouts),
