Four years ago Anerien fought a massive, but very private battle.
Her eldest son Ulrich was four, Benjamin three and the twins Gustav and Nicholas only one year old when she was diagnosed with tuberculosis and breast cancer. To treat the tuberculosis she had to undergo a lung operation and six months of antibiotics. At the same time she underwent a mastectomy and had to receive chemotherapy as the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.
After completing these treatments Anerien and husband Igmon moved from the UK to Australia with their four young boys, a dream that they’ve had for a while and that they didn’t think would become a reality with Anerien’s health issues. But it did, and on the 1st of December 2016 they arrived in Melbourne and has since loved settling into life Down Under.
Life went on as usual until Anerien started experiencing chest and shoulder pains at the end of 2018. Multiple tests ensued and unfortunately it revealed that the breast cancer has metastasised to her liver, lungs, breast bone and a place on her rib. The family and friends are devastated by this news but at the same time they are passionately trusting God for a miracle and for Anerien’s healing.
Anyone who knows Anerien, can testify that she is an amazing woman, a friend to many, doesn’t complain and selflessly serves her family and the people around her. She is trying to the best of her ability to keep things as normal as possible for her boys, but this is proving more challenging every day as she experiences a lot of pain which impacts her mobility.
Anerien can no longer fully proceed with her craft business @cardboardhunters, and is pursuing viable complimentary therapies (outside of the hormonal treatment that she is receiving on Medicare) which is a costly endeavor, especially for a single income family. They are also looking at getting practical help for Anerien in managing the household day to day.
Many friends and family members have expressed their willingness to help and since many of them are in other countries I have set up this page for loved ones to financially help and bless the family in this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and read Anerien’s story. Please share and spread the word. Any support you can offer for Anerien, her husband Igmon and their boys during this difficult time is truly appreciated!
