Help Analisa's Father Battle Parkinson's

Hello,
My name is Analisa and I am starting this GoFundMe in behalf of my parents. As their only child and only next of kin, I cannot help and support them all on my own and am in need of help.

My father was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2013 and has required medical care and assistance ever since. This included medications, doctors visits, physical therapy to regain some motor skills, all which were covered by insurance. He retired in 2016 as his condition worsened and he was unable to drive the 30 miles to his job. Living with just my mothers salary alone, we relied heavily on insurance for care.

As he started to further progress through the stages of Parkinson's, in 2019 my mother retired early to become his primary care giver. Living only on their retirement and pension, it was not ideal but manageable. Extra care was now required and started with hiring registered nurses to come in a few days a week to check on my fathers health and administer medication as needed. All being paid out of pocket by my parents, as no insurance company covers at home cost.

Through the pandemic nursing care increased to every day of the week as he entered a new stage the disease. He lost most of his motor moments and strength during this time needing to be lifted into a chair, bed, wheelchair. He could no longer do basic tasks for himself like feeding himself, bathing, and using the restroom. My mother stepped up when the nurses were not there and took care of everything for him.

In early November of 2023 all that changed. My father got admitted into the hospital for phenomena, something he has had in the past and has recovered quickly from. While he was in the hospital he was left unattended by the nursing staff, on his back where his airway got blocked. He coded, and we almost lost him right then and there. Panic ensued on the medical team and the only thing they told my mother as they rushed him out of the room to the operating room was that he needed a breathing tube. BUT if something goes wrong in the OR he could die within minutes. Thankfully the surgery was a success but now a whole new set of challenges arose.
He left the hospital with a tracheotomy "trach", (an incision in the windpipe to help with breathing.) a feeding tube, (formula "food" moves through a tube to his stomach), and a urinary bag.
With the edition of the trach and feeding tube he now required 24/7 medical care and attention from a licensed nurse or caregiver, and constant medial supplies to maintain them.
Options to either have him live in a facility which the only qualifying one was over 400 miles away from my parents residence and would require my mother to uproot her life and relocate them, or hire the RN's and caregivers full time at home. Since both are considered "long term care" they are not covered by any insurance company in the United States.

We now arrive at today, where we are in need of help. He is currently in Stage 5 of Parkinson's, with his cognitive skills all still remaining. His belief has always been "a day above ground is a day worth living", and my mother and I have done all we could up to this point to keep his wishes true. Selling most of our assets other than what is needed to sustain daily life, and with those funds now depleted the savings is quickly going as well. With costs reaching up to $40,000 some months we are all out of options.

All donations made will go right back into my fathers care, RN salary, and medical supplies.
Examples:
Formula for his feeding tube.
Bandages for the bed sores and wounds he has developed.
Cleaning supplies to ensure the trach is sterile.
Salary for the 24 hour RN care.

For any of you who are reading this and know my father personally, you know how he always gave to others and supported those he loved in every way he could. Now we would love nothing more to be able to provide the same support he has always given us.

If you know us, you know we would never ask unless it was absolutely necessary.
On behalf of my mother and I, thank you!
