Help Alex Honor Veterans in Boston Marathon

Hi friends,

As you may know, I'm running the Boston Marathon for the first time this year on behalf of the Veterans Committee of Hopkinton. I want to thank Michael Whalen, a representative of the charity, for giving me the opportunity and personally signing off on my participation. I was introduced to Michael through a mutual friend who ran last year’s marathon through the same Hopkinton-based charity. Due to an injury, my friend was unable to participate in this year’s race and recommended me to take his spot.

I have a deep respect for military veterans. This marathon is more than just a race for me—it’s an honor to log miles for those who have fought to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. Veterans exemplify resilience and commitment, and I aim to channel that same mindset throughout my training. This race is my way of honoring their sacrifices and running for a cause greater than myself.

To participate, I aim to raise $6,000 on behalf of the Veterans Committee, which will support veterans’ programs in the town of Hopkinton. All donations will be handled and withdrawn by Michael Whalen, who is acting as the representative of the charity and managing funds on their behalf.
