After church, my husband and I stopped at Walmart to pick up supplies for a family cookout. As we were getting out of the truck to go inside and shop, our 4-year-old climbed through the middle to get out on his dad’s side. While holding onto the door, he unknowingly pressed the lock button before shutting it.
When my husband tried to open the back seat to get our other two children out, we realized the truck had locked with them inside. Without hesitation, my husband immediately acted. He punched through the window and reached through the shattered glass to unlock the vehicle and get our children to safety. Thankfully, our children were out in less than two minutes.
Police arrived within minutes, but by then our children were already safely out. In the process of rescuing them, my husband suffered severe cuts to his hand and arm from the broken glass. He was bleeding heavily and was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
We are incredibly grateful that our children are safe and that this frightening accident did not end in tragedy. Our 4-year-old had no idea what he had done, and accidents happen. However, we are now facing unexpected expenses from the ambulance ride, emergency medical care, and the cost of replacing the shattered truck window.
Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family and help ease the financial burden caused by this emergency as requested by multiple people. If you're unable to donate, we would greatly appreciate your prayers and sharing our story.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.
