My dear friend, Segawa Ephraim, is a true local hero in Nansana, Uganda. We first connected on LinkedIn when I moved to Las Vegas in 2018, and our friendship has grown through many virtual meetings over Facetime. Segawa has introduced me to a few children of his community, and given me a virtual tour of his village. Segawa is heralded as a local hero and the children sing songs about Segawa, calling him their hero. His dedication to uplifting his community is truly inspiring. Uganda still has very primitive farming methods and limited technology in his region and thus food supply is always compromised.

Just today (October 2026) Segawa informed me there is a critically low supply of food for their Ugandan foster care system. He has reached out to me to help bring awareness to this need and get the word out through GoFundMe.

You may have noticed my campaign to help him garner funds for a local poultry farming project at his school. While this is still a need, the priority at the moment is to help the Ugandan foster care schools get money for food. We need your support to help us realize these visions.

The specifications of the poultry project remain the same as there is a need for a pellet-making machine for animal feed, a poultry incubator that can hold 1200 eggs, and an emergency generator to ensure the project runs smoothly even during power outages. These tools will provide hands-on experience for the youth, help them develop valuable skills, and contribute to local food security.

If you are able to assist in any way, please consider donating to this campaign. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for Segawa, his students, and the entire community. If you would like to learn more about Segawa or our friendship, I am always happy to share more. Thank you for your support, and please spread the word about this campaign and send the URL link to as many people as you can. God bless you.
