Hi! I’m Hayley Ryerson—a childbirth educator, and birth & postpartum doula based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I help first-time parents birth the way they want to through private education, birth support, and gentle, grounded postpartum care.

This October, I’ve been offered a fully sponsored spot at the Wombs of the World Summit in Berlin, Germany—a rare, global gathering of Indigenous and traditional midwives from Ecuador, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, and beyond. Tuition has been generously covered… but I need help covering the $2000 CAD for travel expenses to get there. My stretch goal is to raise tuition for another doula to be able to attend the summit :)

This opportunity feels incredibly meaningful to me—not just for my growth as a birth worker, but for the families and doulas I support here in Nova Scotia. It’s a chance to connect with traditional midwives across cultures, lay the foundation for future learning with them, and deepen my understanding of the common threads in ancestral birthwork, as well as the powerful differences.

I feel called to integrate traditional practices into my future path as a midwife. This summit aligns perfectly with that vision, as well as strengthens and enriches the care I can bring to my current clients in my doula practice.
