Hi my name is Erika and I am fundraising for sweet foster baby Max, who has suffered a severe unexpected accident this weekend which resulted in a fracture to his femur. He was rushed to the emergency vet in immense pain, but he has been such a brave boy through it all. Max has received emergency orthopaedic surgery to repair his broken bone so that he can walk again. We are incredibly relieved to share that he made it through the procedure safely and is now resting comfortably in the recovery ward at Ellerslie Pet Hospital.

While the hardest part is over for Max, the financial hurdle is just beginning. Complex orthopaedic surgeries, emergency triage, digital X-rays and post op care are incredibly costly with total bills upwards of $5000.

Because this emergency happened under my watch as his foster parent, I want to do everything I can to help shield Sunshine Haven rescue from carrying this massive, unexpected debt.

Please note: Because Sunshine Haven is a local rescue, this fundraiser is set up personally by me as his foster parent. Every single dollar raised will be paid directly onto Max’s medical account over the phone at Ellerslie Pet Hospital or e-transferred straight to the rescue's official financial account.
