Hawkesbury Valley Rugby Club Flood Relief
Our Hawkesbury Valley Rugby Club is based at Windsor, NSW and services the entire Hawkesbury district. In March this year we sadly lost everything for our Juniors and Minis to the recent flood.
Our fields and facilities all went under water which has left us with no equipment or fields to start the 2021 season.
Our local rugby community has been wonderful in helping us make a start for the current season. We've had very kind donations from other junior rugby clubs across NSW, local businesses and individuals. We are eligible to apply for NSW Flood Recovery funding for $15k from the flood relief the government has made available, which we are currently in the process of doing, but the reality is that we still have so much more we need to replace. Our total losses have come to just under $45k. The items we lost in the flood are:
- All training and game day gear (hit shields/tackle bags/corner posts/post protectors...etc.)
- Mini & Junior uniforms and additional stock
- Fridges, freezers, cooking equipment
- Canteen supplies
- First Aid kits and our recently purchased defibrillator
- Field and line marking equipment
- Scrum machine pads
These are just our big ticket items!
Thank you so much for thinking of us and our club, any amount is truly appreciated.
Any questions please let us know. You can contact our Club Treasurer- Vanessa :)
