We are proud to announce that on the 400th birth anniversary of the 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, we are opening the doors of “Gurdwara Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Inc.” With the blessings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sandh Sangat of New York, this new Gurdwara will be located on 2000 Hillside Ave. North New Hyde Park, NY 11040 commemorating the brave and selfless Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji advocated for peaceful co-existence of all humans – regardless of the caste, race, religion and gender. Guru Ji fought against forced religious conversions. Guru Ji put his life at stake to protect the Hindus who were forced to convert their faith. Guru Ji endured much torture, shackled in chains – eventually sacrificing his own life for his religion. Hence it is a privilege to devote a Gurdwara where his principles of intolerance to injustice and peace for all will be emphasized.

This Gurdwara will be constructed keeping in mind the teachings of Gurbani “Choh varna ko sanjha” meaning the doors of this Gurdwara are open to all. This Gurdwara looks forward to serving all humanity therefore we ask for your help. Please help us raise funds to upstart and support the beautiful pillars Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji initiated.

These funds will directly go towards helping closing on the purchase the property for the Gurdwara. Any amount of contribution will be appreciated and can add up to lifetime of service to the community. Please join us in this noble cause!
