Guarding an Angel
Donation protected
Dear friends,
To know me is to know my dogs.
Over the past 20 years, I've had the pleasure of owning four golden retrievers. The youngest of the bunch, Angel, may be the most devoted of them all. She lays next to me when I'm sleeping, at my feet when I'm working, and against the tub when I'm showering. It's hard to imagine a life without her.
On December 29, Angel was diagnosed with cancer in her jaw. About a week earlier, she went in to have a tooth removed because we thought she had an infection. It turns out the swelling was caused by a tumor.
After several x-rays, CT scans, and consultations, the good news is: the doctors think surgical removal has potential for a good outcome. It is a slow-growing tumor with no signs of spread. The goal is to go in and out, remove the tumor, and let her live a full life of tennis balls and shredded cheese.
We are currently scheduled for surgery on April 13 at Ohio State Veterinary Medical Center. The cost estimate is $3,000 – $4,000. After accumulating vet bills of over $5,000, my emergency fund is stretched thin. I need your help.
Angel turns 5 on April 6. Please help me give her the best birthday present. All donors are entitled to a big jumping dog hug. Thank you so much!
