Christopher Griffin took his last breath January 17th, 2017. Christopher was 43 years old. He was diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Cancer nearly 2 years ago. Due to his illness, Christopher was unable to work and support his family for the past 2 years. He left behind: his wife, Suzanne, a teacher's aide at Davenport Elementary School, his daughter Isabella, 18-year-old and a senior at Egg Harbor Township High School, and his 11-year-old son Christopher, a 6th grader at Fernwood Middle School.
The past 3 years have been very difficult for the Griffin family. Not only was Christopher diagnosed with colon cancer December of 2014 but daughter Isabella was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma December of 2013. The family has incurred many medical expenses over the past 3 years and it has been difficult to stay afloat.
The children have been involved in our EHT Community for years whether it be Girl Scouts, Football, Color Guard, or Lacrosse. Many of us have interacted with the family in one way or another. Suzanne has always been on the side lines working full-time and being a supportive mother to her children. Suzanne has kept a smile on her face and many of us had no idea what stress she was enduring.
As a neighbor of the Griffins' I wanted to help. I know many of us want to help the Griffins' during this difficult time and the children during this influential time in their lives. Although;casseroles and flowers are nice, we know the family would actually benefit from financial support. The funds could be used for not only medical and funeral expenses but household expenses. After discussing this with Suzanne a Go Fund Me account was developed at funds.gofundme.com under Griffin Family Funeral and Medical.
