Go Pro Skills Camp

My name is George Pektor (as seen above, number 3). I am a Sophomore at Blair Academy in northwestern New Jersey.  I have been playing basketball for the past 7 years. During this time, I was fortunate enough to attend skills development programs and collegiate basketball camps. I have also been involved in AAU and travel basketball programs. By participating in these programs, I came to realize that many potentially good athletes do not have the opportunity to advance their skill set through focused training and concentrated coaching.

Consequently, I have conceived and developed a no-cost, elite skills development program for athletes that are less fortunate in the inner cities of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. I have committed my efforts to structuring a platform for these athletes that contains advance skill development as well as having both motivational and inspirational speakers of prominence. In addition to providing a deeper understanding of the sport, and enhancing their personal development, this program will introduce professional players as well as career devoted coaches. Through their stories and advice, the professional athletes will help provide a positive, uplifting experience, free of charge. My hope is to raise enough resources to make this program a success and perpetuate this model every summer.

Specifically, the goal is to motivate and improve the skill set of 13-17 year old boys that would not normally be able to participate or afford such a program. The intention, as well, is to influence these young athletes at a critical point in their basketball career where they might in fact be questioning their future with the sport.  This concentrated, skills development program is meant to further advance their potential and interest in the sport of basketball as well as the importance of higher education.


Sponsor funding will enable this camp to not only employ a high professional staff, but also provide the ability to secure meaningful and inspirational speakers. Most importantly this funding will bring five-star sports training to well deserving athletes who are financially unable to otherwise afford such a program.
