Hi Everyone,
I have started a gofundme page to raise money for my sister Shelly, who will be undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, starting Nov 15th.
Although the next year will bring lots of incredible and positive changes, there will be some challenging changes as well.
As most of you already know, it is very common to lose your hair while undergoing chemotherapy and as a woman, I know the importance of having amazing hair days and what that can do for a person's self-esteem.
With all the changes coming, I want her to feel as beautiful as always, so I would like to raise money to buy her a wig to wear for the next year or two while her hair is growing back.
There are different types of wigs: synthetic or real human hair. Real hair is more expensive but it looks the most natural and can be washed and heat styled everyday.
The wig we have found costs $3000 and any additional money raised will go towards any medication that is not covered by her medical coverage, fuel from Lethbridge to Calgary and back for her follow up appointments and radiation treatments and to help her out financially while she is on medical leave.
Additionally, if there is any one in the Lethbridge area that can be kind enough to drop off an extra meal or offer any extra bit of support, it would be much appreciated so my sister can focus on resting, healing and regaining her health.
