JULY 16, 2021 After a couple of days with steps backward, today Isaac has stabilized again. His blood ox is looking okay and the doctors have turned down his vent setting (from 12 to 10). He was needing to be prone (placed on his belly to relieve pressure on his lungs), but last night and today, he is not going to need to be proned. That's good news! KEEP PRAYING.

Hello, I'm Lisa, and Isaac Cary is my best friend and my partner in a grief & loss education and support organization. Alongside Isaac's beautiful family, we are raising money for our dear and very special Isaac. He is a Veteran, an amazing father, son, brother, cousin, friend, neighbor, community advocate, and very special human being. Isaac has been an Uber driver in Austin, TX for many years. If you've lived in Austin or visited this dynamic city, you've probably had a ride with him. If you did, you'd remember! He's friendly, funny, accomodating, and ALWAYS wants to help make your day better. He's also a Merchant Services provider, so you may know him in that capacity!

Isaac is also an avid (not to mention amazing) dancer, and you've most likely seen him about town spinning the ladies around the dance floor at many different venues like Friends, Far Out Lounge, Antone's, Half Step, C Boys, Continental Club, The Gallery, and many other places over the years!

Isaac is well-known and very well loved.

Isaac has been diagnosed with COVID Pneumonia, and he is currently on a ventilator. His life will never be the same and this event has the probability of financially destroying him. Medical debt is the most catastrophic financial issue that American typically face. It is devastating

We need your help! If you know Isaac, then you know his heart, and you know how much he LOVES this city and helping others. (He has spent countless hours helping people, particularly the elderly book vaccine appointments. He even reached out to Uber HQ to see if they would offer free rides for folks to get vaccines. I believe Uber eventually started that program!).

Personally, I've NEVER had a truer friend than Isaac. He's one-in-a-million, and he's always been there for me no matter what day or what time, and now he needs our help.

Everyone has an Isaac! A true friend who is always there for you no matter what! No matter what dumb thing you've done or what you're crying about, this friend ALWAYS shows up with hugs and zero judgement!

WHO'S YOUR ISAAC?

PLEASE CALL OR TEXT YOUR ISAAC NOW.

PLEASE TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM & APPRECIATE THEM.

PLEASE ASK THEM TO PRAY FOR OUR ISSAC!

We are asking for financial help from friends, neighbors, colleagues, business owners, and the community at large. Please donate whatever amount you can -- it will help with his bills, care, and recovery.

Isaac has been in Intensive Care now for over two weeks and was transferred to another facility outside of Austin. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. All donations will go toward his current care and needs and also home repairs, so Isaac can keep the home he has worked so hard for and come back to a safe and comfortable environment. Funds will also go toward his future medical needs and recovery and to ensure that his daughter are not also financially devastated by this catastrophe. Let's all be here for Isaac, the way he's been here for his friends, his family, and his community!

COVID IS NOT OVER. Please consider getting vaccinated if you haven’t already done so - because though we know it’s not 100 % effective, it will still save many from serious illness. Especially with the Delta Variant, please also continue to wear masks, wash hands and take other precautions, in nothing else but to help protect immunocompromised loved ones, friends, neighbors, and all members of our community.

Health System Tracker indicates medical care costs vary greatly across the country. Beyond that, care for patients who require ventilator support, (such as Isaac) the combination of longer stays and higher intensity treatments result in higher bills. The median total cost of an admission for a respiratory condition, like COVID19, requiring 96 hours or more of ventilation is $88,114 dollars. Isaac has been on mechanical ventilation, at the time of this edit, for 15 days. That's 360 hours which equals nearly 4 times this $88k figure. Funds donated will go toward Isaac's needs, care, and recovery. We don't want to think like this, but since Isaac is literally fighting for his life against the DELTA VARIANT (and Go-Fund-Me is asking), GOD FORBID, he doesn't make it, funds donated here will be used toward a Celebration of Life Service,  and a memorial garden, bench, or sculpture in his honor and if there are funds left, they will be donated to a cause near and dear to Isaac's heart.

Please consider donating anything you can to help Isaac recover from this catastrophic, life-changing event. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
