Give Back Like Jack (Shales)
Dear Friends of Elgin,
Jack Shales believed in giving back. From the time he was a young father, he modeled philanthropy to his children and to all he met. Jack gave his time and his money to so many charitable causes that helped serve the people of Elgin, a town he truly loved. He wasn't afraid to ask for money for the causes he believed in, and he laughed that some people tried to hide when they saw him coming!
If you knew Jack Shales, you know that he would never want to have a memorial service without making it a fundraiser! He always wanted to find more ways to financially support the wonderful non-profits that
serve the Elgin Community. During his last week, he asked to have memorials go to:
The Elgin Community College Foundation for the Marlene
Shales Nursing Scholarship
YMCA Camp Edwards Capital Drive
Cornerstone UM Church
In the spirit of Jack, we would also like to offer you the option of having your donation go to any Elgin non-profit agency that has touched your heart. Just mention the charity in the comments when you make your donation and we will make sure that your request is honored and the monies sent to the organization of your choice.
Please leave your shirt size preference and a contact email so we may make arrangements to deliver your shirt!
Thank you in advance for helping to continue Jack Shales' legacy of giving.
We are so grateful to David Pool of Print Loop, 1405 C Timber Drive, Elgin for his willingness to donate design services, shirts, and printing.
