Meet Rocky, a beloved 16-year-old feline fighter who's facing yet another critical health challenge. Known for his resilience and loving spirit, Rocky has overcome kidney disease, asthma, and various infections throughout his life. Now, he's in the emergency veterinary hospital with a serious condition causing internal bleeding into his bladder.

Rocky's Story:

Rocky has been my faithful companion and best friend for 16 wonderful years. We've been through thick and thin together, and our bond has only grown stronger with each passing day. He's known as the "comeback kit" for his ability to bounce back from numerous health issues:

• Diagnosed with kidney disease in 2019

• Manages asthma and high blood pressure

• Overcame a recent kidney infection

• Now facing a critical condition causing internal bleeding

Despite it all, Rocky remains a sweet, cuddly soul who brings joy to everyone he meets. He's even earned celebrity status at his regular vet clinic for his charming personality and fighting spirit!

The Current Challenge:

Rocky was rushed to the emergency vet when he started passing blood. We've now learned that he's experiencing internal bleeding into his bladder, which has led to anemia. He's already received one blood transfusion, but due to a shortage of cat blood, we're unsure if he'll be able to receive another if needed.

Rocky needs 24-hour care and monitoring. He's scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday (8/19) at midday, but his ability to undergo this crucial test depends on whether his red blood cell count remains stable without another transfusion.

Why We Need Your Help:

The costs for Rocky's care are mounting quickly. In just a few days, the bill has reached $5,951.23. This covers hospitalization, medications, an ultrasound, fluids, 24-hour care and monitoring, blood and cystitis panels, and a blood transfusion. With more days of intensive care ahead and potential additional treatments, we're facing even higher veterinary expenses.
