Hello,
Our names are Maddie and Matt and we are the proud parents (owners) of Mocha. Mocha is a "Super Mutt", but mostly looks like a cattle dog. She is the sweetest, most loving, and a little sassy girl. She loves the outdoors, hiking and camping. I (Maddie) rescued her from Ruff Start Rescue in 2021. She was the starting point of my family, and then Matt came along and our family grew. She has just been diagnosed with a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament, equivalent to a human ACL, in her right knee, muscle atrophy in her right leg, and arthritis in both knees. The vet claimed that there was no way of preventing this, it was bound to happen with her genetics. Mochas case is chronic, and has luckily not been causing her any acute pain. The cure for Mochas case would be a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy surgery. Unlike humans, after this surgery has been completed, there is no chance of her re taring the ligaments. Unfortunately, we do not have any pet insurance for Mocha, because who thinks they actually need it, until it’s too late. Mocha is only four years old, and following her recovery, she will have many years pain and gimp free. We have a long road of surgery and recovery ahead of us. Any donation would be truly, greatly appreciated!
