Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
Our beloved mother, Dori Ann Lytle, the cherished matriarch of our family and devoted wife to her husband Roy Lytle of 43 years, recently suffered a rare and life-altering brain bleed caused by a brain stem cavernoma. On November 10th, this devastating event left her unable to talk, breathe on her own, or move the right side of her body, forever changing her life and ours.
This is not the first time our family has faced a devastation. On January 31st, Dori suffered a massive heart attack and was clinically dead for 7 minutes. By God’s grace and the dedication of the medical team, she was brought back to us, defying all odds. That miraculous moment gave us hope then, and it continues to fuel our faith as she battles this latest challenge.
Brain stem cavernomas are inoperable due to their delicate location, as the brain stem is responsible for critical functions like breathing, speech, swallowing, and regulating the body’s basic life-support systems. Despite these challenges, Dori’s sense of self, personality, and memories remain beautifully intact. She is still her, and we are learning new ways to connect with her through small but meaningful methods, like hand-squeezing or moving her eyes up or down to communicate.
As the heart and backbone of our family, Dori has always been the one we turn to for guidance, strength, and unconditional love. She is the loving wife to husband, Roy Lytle, her partner of over four decades. Devoted mother of 4 daughters and 2 adopted daughters, and the proud grandmother to 4 adoring grandchildren. Her love, wisdom, and presence have shaped our lives in countless ways, and now, she needs us more than ever.
To support her recovery, Dori will soon undergo procedures to receive a tracheostomy to help her breathe and a feeding tube to provide her with essential nutrition. These are critical steps in what will be a long and difficult journey, requiring extensive rehabilitation and specialized care to help her regain as much independence as possible.
The medical expenses for her hospital care, procedures, therapies, and the necessary adjustments to ensure her long-term care are overwhelming. We are asking for your help to ease this financial burden so we can focus on providing her the care and resources she needs.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Your kindness will help cover her medical bills, therapy sessions, medical equipment, and modifications to her home for accessibility. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign and keep Dori in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your support and for standing with us during this incredibly challenging time. Together, we can give Dori the strength, hope, and love she needs to keep fighting.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Lytle Family
