Give Casper the Gift of Pain-Free Adventures
Donation protected
Daniel and I rescued this little ball of goofy energy in December of 2023. Adventurous, and curious from day one, it took no time at all for him to become best friends with his big sister, Opal. He is a constant joy in our lives from his crunchy, demanding meows, his little vampire fangs, and the daily drool while biscuit-ing combo. Casper is our bold, sweet, cross-eyed adventure cat and our lives are so much better with him in it!
Around April of this year, we started to notice that he wasn't putting much weight on his back left leg. He would hobble a few feet and then flop down and meow insistently. We immediately took him to the vet (which turned into multiple vet visits) until he was finally formally diagnosed with a grade 3 luxating patella. This means that his kneecap is prone to frequent dislocation which causes pain and could lead to chronic arthritis if gone untreated.
This condition at grade 3 requires surgery, and we want nothing more than for our little guy to feel better as soon as possible. His pet insurance will not cover the costs. We are a low income household and do not have the funds to cover the surgery by ourselves.
Here is an estimated breakdown of costs via our recent consultation:
In-Hospital Exam Fee: $122
