Geronimo "Bubba" Gonzales (Our Superman)
Donation protected
Hi our names are Diane Gonzales and Alexis Gonzales Franklin. On Thursday April 11th 2019 at around 11:30 P.M. our lives changed forever. We got the call no family ever wants to receive. My brother Geronimo "Bubba" Gonzales had been hit by a drunk driver while trying to fix his truck in his own driveway. He was hit so hard that both his legs were severed from his body and he was thrown 30 yards into a bush. He suffered major injuries, including a broken pelvic bone, a broken right scapula, a tear in his aorta, a brain bleed, and a severe concussion. As my brother lay bleeding, the coward who hit him ran away and begged that the cops not be called. My brother moaned for help and yelled "it hurts, it hurts". Bubbs was life flighted to community regional medical center. Where the doctors fought to save his life. They were able to stabilize him and give him a chance to live. Bubba has undergone multiple surgeries, including amputation above both of his knees, he has yet to wake up. This is only the beginning. There are many more surgeries to come.
Bubba's life has forever been changed he is a wonderful and loving father to his four-year-old daughter Marvel. They enjoy each other so much and loved doing things like piggy back rides, running and playing around and dancing. Marvel is my brother's life. Unfortunately the decision of one person to drive while under the influence has robbed my brother of precious time with his daughter. Marvel needs her daddy.
We as a family are very grateful and fortunate to have Bubba still with us, and appreciate all the help we have received through family and friends to help stay close to him while he recovers. We are truly blessed
We are asking for assistance to help Bubba when he wakes up. These donations will help him to provide for his daughter, and anything he may need in the future.
We have been so touched by the outpouring of love and support from friends and family. We know that when Bubba wakes up he will be overwhelmed with what he has to endure and the challenges he will face. Please continue to pray for healing and understanding.
Thank you for taking the time to read about this amazing man, "our Superman". We are blessed to have him in our lives. Thank you from all of us, for your donations. They will make a difference in Geronimo's life.
" It is not a race, but a marathon, slow and steady, we believe he will make it."
We love you Bubba with all our hearts! Stay Strong!
