Geoffrey and His Labs

Hi, my name is Elaine and this fundraiser is being set up with positive encouragement from other Barrie citizens to help Geoffrey and his two labs who were recently forced out of their home in Barrie and are now living in an old trailer attached to his car with no licence plates. You may have originally read about him when he was first on the side of Sunnidale Rd where his car and trailer were parked. Shortly after arriving at that location there was daily harassment from a few locals and many calls to the OPP, in spite of the fact that Geoffrey wasn’t bothering anyone and didn’t leave any mess or garbage outside his trailer. In fact he picked up close to 9 bags of garbage around the area while he was stuck there. Last week he was forced to have his car and trailer towed to another location or risk losing it all. This cost him $400, just to move to another place where the same thing could happen again. We’re hoping to raise enough funds to help replace that $400 and also help him get back on his feet with a permanent location for his car and trailer or better yet, provide him with a deposit for a reasonably priced apartment. Should this fundraiser continue to increase beyond his immediate needs, several other concerned and supportive residents will discuss together the best approach to keep it going and find others in similarly challenging circumstances in Barrie that we can also help.
