Executive Summary

Future Path Africa – Education & Community Project is a non-profit initiative with a clear humanitarian mission:

to permanently remove orphans and street children from the streets and provide them with protection, education and long-term life prospects.

The project is based on several years of direct, hands-on experience in supporting orphanages in Africa. The initiator has worked closely with existing institutions and responsible persons on the ground. One of the key partners is Elisabeth, the director of an orphanage currently caring for approximately 30 to 40 children. This ongoing cooperation has shown that while short-term aid is essential, it does not lead to sustainable outcomes without long-term, structured solutions.

For this reason, Future Path Africa follows a holistic, campus-based approach, combining protection, education, skills development and community integration. The planned facilities are designed for a minimum capacity of 800 children.

Problem Statement and Needs Assessment

In many regions of Africa, orphans and street children grow up without access to stable living conditions, education or long-term guidance. Lacking family support and institutional structures, many children are forced to survive on the streets, exposed to violence, exploitation and long-term social exclusion.

Existing orphanages and aid initiatives often focus on immediate needs such as food and shelter. While these measures are vital, they frequently fail to provide children with sustainable perspectives once they leave these facilities. As a result, many young people return to the streets, remain unemployed or become socially marginalized.

Based on practical experience and close collaboration with local partners, it has become evident that there is a strong need for integrated, long-term systems that not only protect children but accompany them over many years and prepare them for independent and dignified lives.

Project Approach and Implementation

Future Path Africa aims to establish campus-style facilities that provide a safe and structured environment for children and young people. These campuses are designed to integrate the following key components:

Protection and Basic Care:

Safe accommodation, reliable nutrition and daily supervision in a stable environment.

Education:

On-site schooling adapted to the age and development level of the children.

Vocational Training:

Practical, skills-based training in technical and vocational fields for young people without access to the labor market.

Sports and Community Life:

Sports and physical activities, particularly football, to promote health, discipline, teamwork and social integration.

Programs for Girls and Women:

Targeted activities aimed at strengthening independence, self-reliance and social participation.

Inclusion:

Training and work opportunities for persons with disabilities to ensure participation and dignity.

Health Care (Perspective):

Basic medical services for children, youth and the surrounding community.

Economic and vocational structures within the project are intentionally designed as supportive instruments, not as an end in themselves. Their purpose is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the humanitarian mission and to reduce dependence on short-term external assistance.

The planned project launch is in Cameroon, with a clear perspective to expand the model to other countries if successful and supported.

Partnership and Invitation to Dialogue

Future Path Africa is conceived as a long-term, partnership-based development initiative. Its successful implementation depends on cooperation with governmental institutions, embassies, international organizations and civil society actors.

The project explicitly invites dialogue regarding potential forms of cooperation, institutional support, guidance or referral to relevant departments and programs.
