Megan’s water broke at 22 weeks pregnant. Megan was immediately put on bed rest in the hospital due to the high risk for infection and other concerns with PPROM. The goal was to keep baby inside as long as possible. They were transferred to a hospital with a level 4 NICU where they lived for 3 weeks to keep their baby inside and growing.

On Devin and Megan’s first wedding anniversary, an ultrasound showed that the baby’s umbilical was being pinched and such low oxygen levels would put the baby at risk for brain damage. After consulting with specialist, they decided to go into surgery to keep their baby safe.

At 25wks, Redmond William DeNeve was born via cesarean weighing 1 lb, 3 oz and 11 inches long. Redmond was a micropreemie and went to the level 4 NICU to be cared for.

At this time Redmond is stable, growing and resting, there are no signs of brain bleeds or infection, but he has at least 15 weeks in the NICU before he can be safely taken home. Redmond‘s due date was Valentine’s Day 2024.

His parents have had a lot of heartache in leaving him in the hospital and driving almost an hour back and forth from their home to the hospital to see him daily, as well as navigating the necessary time away from their jobs for their initial hospital stay and continuing medical needs. Financial support will take a lot of stress off of this couple and allow them to focus on healing and spending time with their little guy.

Money raised here will be put towards the thousands of dollars of hospital bills from first Megan’s 20 day inpatient stay and now the several months that Redmond will continue to be inpatient, as well as gas, groceries, and other necessities for the family.
