Give the gift of play! Help Safehaven fund wheelchair accessible swings.

Remember playing on your swing set growing up? Remember the pure happiness of spending hours in your backyard or local park trying to soar as high as you could? For kids who rely on mobility aids like wheelchairs, such simple pleasures are often inaccessible – but that doesn’t have to be the case! We are aiming to raise $25,000 to fund the construction of wheelchair accessible swings at our residential care homes in the GTA, so the 130+ families that use our facilities can have access to a joy that most of us take for granted.

We’d love your support in making our wheelchair accessible swing a reality.  No matter how big or small, every contribution makes a difference!

What is The Safehaven Project for Community Living?

With a mandate to provide a safe and loving place for special-needs children, we opened our first residential homes in 1990. Our residential and respite care programs continue to provide round-the-clock care, 365 days a year, for children newborn to eighteen years with complex care needs. They may be living with cerebral palsy, have a genetic, neurological or seizure disorder, a visual or hearing impairment, or be unable to eat orally. Our children are supported in community-based residences with trained and motivated staff, and receive care tailored to suit their specific medical, physical and emotional needs. We are proud to have supported over 1,000 families across the GTA. We have 5 locations across the GTA in Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Woodbridge and Aurora.

Safehaven is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency. Charity No. 126599208 RR0001
