Funeral Donation for David de Varona

It is with great regret that I write about the passing of David de Varona, my brother, a father, grand-father and the inspiration to his daughter Lilie de Varona.

David contracted COVID-19 a couple of weeks ago and his condition landed him in the hospital. His spirits were high the first few days of his admission but he rapidly started to deteriorate and organs began to fail. In the early evening of August 7, 2021, his body could not fight any longer and he succumbed to COVID. David leaves behind his only daughter and grand-daughter who will miss him immensely.

David came to the U.S. with his family 15 years ago with the spirit and determination to provide a better life for his family. In those 15 years David’s tenacity and desire to succeed was abundantly clear. He pushed his only daughter to graduate and start a loving family. His relentless hours of hard work were also noticed by his employer and co-workers as he was promoted during his tenure with Coca Cola. David was a loving grand-father to two-year-old Yailie who was the apple of his eye.

David's family is devasted by his loss and were financially unprepared for this unforeseen and premature passing. With his passing our family is now incurring many medical expenses due to providing care for David. Now, planning for a funeral and many other unforeseen expenses places a financial burden on the family in addition to grieving the loss of a dear brother and family member.
