Selina Taylor, her boyfriend and her two children were involved in a hit-and-run crash on the south side of Sunday June 20, 2021 just after 1 a.m. on the 3900-block of S. State Street. Two unidentified men were traveling southbound on State Street in a burgundy Chevy Malibu when they crashed into the family both men fled the scene. Police also said the Malibu has been reported stolen. The Taylor family were leaving a Juneteenth event.

Selina was killed on impact and her 3-month son succumbed to his injuries on June 21, 2021. Her

12-year-old son was ejected from the vehicle and is currently at Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition in a medically induced coma.
