Fundraiser for the King Family (medical expenses)

Hi, everyone.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Here's what happened:

Last week, Kyra noticed she was getting headaches. She was 28 weeks pregnant at that time. Being a nurse, Kyra knew that could be sign of pre-eclampsia, so she took her blood pressure and it was high. She sought medical care and was told to make sure it was staying within certain parameters. It was okay for a couple days, but on July 8th, while Kyra was working, she started feeling sick. Long story short, she was brought to the ER and admitted to the hospital on bedrest for severe preeclampsia. Her blood pressure had gotten as high as 208/151. The plan was to keep Kyra admitted on bedrest until they would induce labor when Emery was at 34 weeks gestation.

Unfortunately, that night Kyra's placenta abrupted and her blood began mixing with Emery's blood. This is a medical emergency. She developed fluid around her lungs and was rushed to the operating room for a c-section.

Baby Emery was born on July 9th at 28 weeks and 3 days gestation. He is currently in the NICU and is intubated (has a breathing tube) and a chest tube. He is relatively stable at this time and being monitored very closely. He is expected to remain in the NICU for a few months. Kyra is recovering both physically and emotionally. She will be admitted until they are able to stabilize her blood pressure. Jess, Kyra's wonderful wife, and Logan, Kyra and Jess' son, are also processing and trying to stay afloat through this traumatic time.

As you can imagine, the King Family's medical bills are going to be hefty and with both Jess and Kyra unable to work at this time, they need help with finances to keep them afloat.
