Hello, potential contributor!
We are a team of undergraduate engineering students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, looking to fight in the battle against COVID-19. Our strategy focuses on high-performance computing, and we need your help!
We are joining the Stanford Folding@home (FAH) effort to simulate protein folding, computational drug design, and other types of molecular dynamics. This effort could lead to a new vaccine or treatment for COVID-19. With a powerful computer dedicated to this task, we can help in the fight against this disease and the next one.
Our goal is to raise $9,271 for high-performance computer components that our team will assemble and tune for the FAH effort.
Any proceeds raised above our goal will go to No Kid Hungry to ensure kids can eat during the Coronavirus crisis.
After we have defeated this disease, our team will repurpose the computer for AI research on Rensselaer’s campus.
We thank you in advance for your contribution of any amount, and appreciate your support of this engineering initiative to tackle COVID-19!
Thanks from the whole team,
Kessler, Jack, Michael, SJ, Luke, & Andrew
