Fund a Latinx Organizer’s Nursing Education!
Andrea needs your support!
After leading the Pioneer Valley Workers Center in Western Massachusetts for the last four years in the fight for immigrant and worker justice, Andrea is excited to transition to a career in nursing. However, nursing school is extremely expensive on an organizer’s salary! When solidarity has been needed, Andrea has stepped in countless times. Now, we have to show up for her so she can become a nurse and continue to support her community.
What your support will fund:
While this is nowhere near the amount of money that a nursing education will cost, Andrea needs $15,000 to jumpstart her education and transition process.
- The prerequisite courses she must take in order to qualify to nursing/midwifery programs. Federal aid does not cover these courses given that Andrea already has a bachelor’s degree, and federal aid does not fund a second bachelor’s degree (which in this case, would be in Nursing).
- Textbooks and school materials for prerequisite courses
- Application fees to nursing programs
- Living cost while she transitions fully into being a student!
- Remaining funds will cover the tuition for the nursing program Andrea gets into (TBD).
