For Sean, Fred and Josh in memory of Jane

On 1 January 2025, Jane Colechin - beloved partner to Sean, devoted mother to their young sons Fred and Josh, and brilliant colleague and beautiful friend to so many of us - passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of only 44.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe Jane. Through her work, she was instrumental in shaping programs and policies that changed the lives of vulnerable young people across the UK. She was endlessly empathetic, and gave her time, advice and kind words to anyone who needed them, be they friends or whatsapp strangers. She seemed to be able to talk knowledgeably about anything and everything, from international politics to internationally trashy TV (big MAFS fan). She had the wickedest sense of humour, and the most infectious cackle, especially when recounting unfiltered tales of her various shenanigans and escapades. She was gregarious, fizzed with joy when around those she loved, and was the fiercest Mama Bear to her boys.

Her loss is huge, especially to Sean, Fred and Josh who are deeply grieving such an important figure in their lives.

All funds raised will go directly to Sean to help with the immediate costs arising out of this heartbreaking situation such as Jane’s funeral expenses and the financial challenges that come with losing half of the family income. By relieving some of the immediate financial strain, Sean can focus on supporting their boys and navigating his new life as a solo parent. Beyond that, the funds will help to ensure that the boys have the stability and opportunities that Jane worked so hard to give them.
