Flood relief for Southern Brazil
Donation protected
Hey, I'm Valentina!
Watching the devastating floods in my hometown and hearing the news from friends and family in Rio Grande do Sul has been heart-wrenching. I know this feeling resonates with many other immigrants—we are all anguished by being so far away during hard times.
I believe in the strength of community, and I know that contributions from Canada can make a significant difference back home. The Canadian dollar can go a long way in Brazil. For example, $10.00 CAD turns into about 37.00 BRL. That means even a small donation can help a lot!
Current Situation (as of May 7th):
- 85 people died
- 385 (out of 497) municipalities were affected
- 153,824 people have no homes
- Over 1 million people are without access to clean water.
- Numerous roads are blocked, and the main airport is closed until the end of May.

How Your Contributions Will Help:
Every dollar raised will be directly sent to local volunteers and organizations (through Wise and PIX).
Your donation will be used to purchase fuel for boats involved in underwater rescue operations, provide trauma-informed care for children affected by the disaster, and support efforts to rebuild and strengthen social infrastructure in the community.
Transparency and Updates:
To maintain transparency, I will send detailed updates and receipts to anyone who provides an email address. You will see exactly how your donations are being used and the impact they're making.
Your support can bring warmth and relief to many lives. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us deliver crucial aid to those who need it most right now. Even from afar, we can make a significant difference together.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil!
