This August and September (2019) Brenda Townsend VK (lover of: God, her children, her grandchildren, her husband, flamingos, and coffee) was hospitalized for what was assumed to be pancreatitis. While there it was discovered that along with it she was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The real scoop
After many requests, Brenda relented and let us (her children) set this campaign up. Between surgery, a tackle box full of medications, radiation treatments, and aggressive chemo therapy, the medical bills are excessive. Even in conjunction with health insurance we're looking at a preliminary bill upwards of $10k for the base medical charges. This doesn't include other palliative care needs, frequent office visit co-pays, daily costs incurred from regular trips to the Medical Center, future financial considerations, and countless other things we can't even think of right now.
The goal here is for loved ones, friends, acquaintances, and even random strangers with a few bucks burning a hole in their pocket to be able to help. There is obviously a lot on Brenda and her family's plate right now, and the reality is this treatment can give her more time to enjoy (and be enjoyed by) her family.
