Hi, my name is jasmine my best friends, Chelsea Davison and Caitlyn Davison, have had a tragic event occur within their family. On 12/27/23 their cousin, Isabelle Dwyer, who lives with them and currently in the adoption process of becoming their sister, was rushed to an area emergency room with flu like
symptoms. After a lot of tests, cat scans,
rays and examinations, she was found to be in complete liver failure and in critical
condition. Orlando Children's Hopital,
Pediatric ICU, Liver and Kidney Transplant Department agreed to accept Izzy for
immediate emergent transport and care.
She was in critical condition, sedated
intubated and put on dialysis to try to keep
kidneys healthy and clear out the toxins
that livers wasn't able to do.
The family consists of their mother, two 17 year old daughters 16 year old cousin
(brother of Izzy), and 15 year old Izzy. My friends' mother, my friends and Izzys brother have been at the Orlando Hospital
continuously since 5:30 am on 12/28/23, and had to get a hotel for two days and
buy food and other things. The great
news is that Izzy has started to improve, and likely will not require a liver transplant, but treatment is ongoing for several
weeks, at least. The family reside in New
Port Richey, Florida and cannot travel back and forth to the hospital due to the 2 hour
distance.
The family has been kindly granted accommodations at the Ronald McDonald
house next to the hospital, effective today. This family is having to miss a lot of work,
with some of it being unpaid, lots of extra money for gas, food, etc. They feel blessed that Izzy is getting better and owe
so much to the hospital, doctors, staff, friends, family and coworkers.
I just wanted to try to take a little bit of the financial burden of the unexpected extra
expenses off of them at this time. If you are able to make a contribution to help
them with the extras that they are
incurring, it would be very appreciated.. if not, can you please keep Izzy and her
family in your thoughts and prayers. Everything is appreciated.
