Spende geschützt
On the afternoon of July 10th, Nicole, Sean, and their loved son Maddox were walking home when a driver in an SUV traveling at high speeds lost control and struck the three of them.
While my cousin Sean escaped with only minor injuries, his wife and her boy Maddox were not as lucky. Seans's screams could be heard by many in a nearby building, but nothing could take from the horror that remained. Nicole and Maddox were severely injured and were both rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Since Sunday, Maddox has stabilized while Nicole has undergone several surgeries. Unfortunately, her prognosis is unknown and still quite severe.
I was lucky enough to have the three of them up at our family cottage a couple of weeks ago, where I picked them up and passed on the very street this all happened. We enjoyed the outdoors with a bonfire, BBQ and even a swim in the nearby lake. I specifically remember Maddox practicing his swimming for one of the first times. Also, it was nice to see Nicole have some downtime from her full-time job, where she works 12-hr shifts.
I can't imagine how emotionally stressing this is on the family, which faces a long road ahead to recovery. This is why I've started this GoFundMe page, hoping to raise money to support the three of them in their rent payments. These days every bit of money helps, and I couldn't imagine how difficult it must be to support rent, food, and deal with this tragic event simultaneously.
While the outcome of this car crash is developing, I hope the community loved ones and support from strangers help lessen the financial burden of the time ahead.
I am deeply saddened and shocked by this unfortunate event and am sending prayers for a full recovery for Nicole and Maddox.
