Hello, my name is Olena Sidlauskas, and i wanted to ask for everybody's help if possible please...

On 19/11/2025 we have woken up to the news of yet another massive attack on Ukraine by Russia during their full scale invasion. This time, however, it hit home...

Around nine Russian X-101 cruise missiles had hit the residential flats in my home city of Ternopil, western Ukraine, some 700 kms from the front line and only 200 kms from the border with Poland... One of the nine missiles has hit 30 feet from my parents ground floor apartment, destroying absolutely everything my parents had and worked hard for all of their lives...

Just so it happens, my father Yevhen was coming out of the front door on his daily commute to work at the time of impact. As a result, he has suffered severe shrapnel wounds to his head, abdomen, and legs...

He has undergone 4 serious operations so far, in the last 24 hours, with surgeons working round the clock to save his life, however, preparing us for the high possibility of him losing one leg in the very best case scenario... They have removed a big portion of his intestines and repaired just enough to stabilise his critical condition for now, with numerous more operations to come...

With Ukraine being in a state of war, it unfortunately means that not all necessary drugs and medical equipment can be provided free of charge, and he is in desperate need for all he can get in order to make it and pull through... This will be a very very long way to recovery, and countless hours and days of rehabilitation to return to the somewhat similar quality of life he once had...

And then there is a desperate need to rebuild the apartment, almost from scratch, because at the moment both my mum and my dad are literally homeless...

This is very hard for us as we have never asked for anything to be given to us, and have been raised to always work all our lives for everything we have. Therefore, with a broken heart, i would like to ask my friends, colleagues, and all people around me who know us to please help with any donations that you are comfortable with, no matter how small...

Goes without saying - we will be forever grateful...
