Essential Aid for Orphans in Chefchaouen

We're raising ongoing funds for Dar al-Rahma (House of Mercy) Orphanage in Chefchaouen, Morocco.

Abandoned babies, children and mothers are in urgent need of funds to support them with various needs:

 

 

Dar al-Rahma is an organisation that host orphans; babies and children who have been abandoned by one or both parents, (some of these children with severe, special needs) and vulnerable, single mothers escaping domestic violence or in great difficulty.

There is not much funding available from the government unfortunately, therefore they rely mostly on donations.

With the help of kind people like yourself, funding will go towards essential food, clothes, education, medical expenses and much more.

My name is Fatima Tahaiekt and I live with my family in the UK. I am originally from Chefchaouen, Morocco and have started this cause along with my sister - Naima Tahaiekt and my daughter - Iman Ibn Tahaikt.

 

Our campaign began 7 years ago when we learnt about a young lady named Sarah, now 27 years old, who was experiencing respiratory issues due to fluid in her lungs and was in urgent need of a medical operation (see picture). We rallied around our friends and family and managed to raise around £1500 for her operation and after-care. The response was overwhelming and even the doctors operating contributed. This sparked the beginning of our journey to help others who are unable to support themselves financially, as we realised there were so many other causes in desperate need of help.

 

Other past causes we have helped:

 

Ritaj, 11 years old - operation to repair a hole in her heart.

Yousef, - operation to repair his testes.

Hasna, 3 years old - operation to repair an imperforate anus (ongoing).

Alaa, 2 years old - operation to repair eyesight (ongoing).

 

The list goes on and on and there is so much we can do to elevate suffering and hardship to offer a decent life to those in need.

 

100% of all donations goes directly to the cause of the babies, children or mother who needs it.

 

Disclaimer: I, Fatima Ibn Tahaikt, will be collecting funds raised online and offline and sending directly to my sister, Naima who lives in Morocco. She will then distribute these funds according to the needs listed above. Naima is in close contact with Dar al-Rahma orphanage and visits regularly as well to get updates on the welfare, wellbeing and needs of the children. 

 

So give as little or as much as you can! Our ongoing campaign will ensure that these babies, children and vulnerable mothers will have the regular support they so desperately need.
