Hi, I’m Xavier Xué, a 17-year-old classical and contemporary dancer from Australia, and I’m honoured to share some truly exciting news—I’ve been selected to represent my country at the Prix de Lausanne 2025.
The Prix is a dream for dancers worldwide. It’s not just a competition; it’s a celebration of artistry, dedication, and potential. Each year, this prestigious event brings together young dancers from across the globe to train and perform under the guidance of some of the most respected names in ballet. It’s a chance to grow, to learn, and to take a bold step towards a professional career. This year, 445 dancers from 42 countries submitted applications, and only 86 were selected to participate. I am honoured to be one of just two male dancers representing Australia.
For me, this isn’t just about dancing—it’s about a lifelong love of an art form that has shaped who I am. I’ve been dancing since I was 18 months old, and the studio has always felt like home. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing with incredible companies like Queensland Ballet, The Royal Ballet, and Teatro alla Scala, creating moments on stage that I’ll carry with me forever.
Now, as I prepare for Lausanne, I’m facing the challenge of bringing this dream to life. The journey involves significant costs—travel to Lausanne from Australia, travel costs within Switzerland, accommodation, food, dancewear, competition fees, and warm clothing—and while my family and I are doing everything we can, we’d be so grateful for your support to help make this moment possible.
What humbles me most is the kindness and generosity of people who believe in the power of dreams. Your support, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. It’s not just about getting me to Lausanne—it’s about showing that hard work, resilience, and heart can open doors to opportunities we might only dream of.
