Emily Durr's Trip to Internationals

Donation protected
Hi all! My name is Emily Durr and I am your 2017 International Junior Miss Washington Teen! I am so excited to represent Washington State at Internationals in Tennessee this coming July.

This time last year I was a lot quieter and self-conscious than I am now. Pageants have given me the confidence to let go of my insecurities and just be who I want to be.

In my first pageant just over a year ago, I didn’t even make it into the top 16 finalists. Now just a short time later I am standing here as your 2017 International Junior Miss Washington Teen. I have come so far as a person in just a few short months and I owe most of that to the International Junior Miss Scholarship Program. Pageants have proven to be more than just a hobby, they are an investment into my future, even though they can be expensive at times.

As a proud representative of Washington State, I am dedicated to serving my community in a number of different philanthropic outreaches. My Sister Queens and I will be participating in several fundraisers throughout the coming year. JDRF is one of those upcomng events, as a team I feel that we are required to earn our place in society and always give back. As a queen, I am able to use my crown in a way that benefits the community as a whole, for everyone to share and take pride in being part of something bigger than ones self.

I humbly ask my family, friends, and community to support me in my endeavor to further challenge myself in reaching the International finals in Nashville, Tennessee. As an International Queen, the outreach can be life-changing but not without the help from family and friends. Part of the monies raised will go to provide scholarships for the winners, part will go toward my program page listing my information and accomplishments throughout the year. During my reign as IJM Washington Teen I will be asked to make numerous appearances across the beautiful states of Washington and Oregon and around the Pacific Northwest with my wonderful sister queens. Some of the funds will be used toward travel and accommadations throughout my reign. These travel costs to and from Pullman can become a little overwhelming, as well as all the attire that goes with being a queen!

I believe that I have a bright future ahead of me. I want to use my talents to help other young girls overcome their obstacles and gain self confidence like I did just a few short months ago. This is a job and responsibility that I take very seriously and I intend to make my state of Washington as proud as any parent could be.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my quest. If you are unable to help financially, your prayers for my continued success would also be greatly appreciated throughout the year. Please help me achieve my goals and donate today!

May God Bless You,

Emily Durr | IJM Washington Teen
