Emergency Surgery Fund for Garrus the Chihuahua
Cassie Reeder’s Chihuahua named “Garrus” was rushed to the hospital this evening since he was in severe pain and crying. After running tests they discovered he had 14 bladder stones and 2 stones in his uretha. He will need an emergency procedure tonight to tap his bladder to remove the backed up urine. His bloodwork showed elevated kidney levels and they have him on IV fluids. Then on Monday he will need to have surgery to remove the stones from his bladder, which requires them to open his bladder and physically remove the stones. They are keeping him at the emergency center until surgery to monitor him closely. The total cost is estimated between $7k-9k. The cost is extremely high since it’s an emergency and he will be at the emergency center for at least three days. This is an unforeseen and unfortunate situation. Garrus is a sweet, loving and adorable chihuahua.
Cassie has dedicated her life to helping animals and still volunteers her time at a local animal shelter. She lost her job due to Covid and cannot afford the surgery. She has fostered numerous animals and always does what she can do to help others. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
