Nepal Needs Our Help Now

On August 26, 2026, a catastrophic flash flood swept through Nepal’s Bhote Koshi–Trishuli river corridor near the Nepal–China border, devastating communities in Rasuwa and downstream areas. Powerful torrents of water, mud, rock, and debris swept away homes, roads, bridges, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

According to the Government of Nepal's August 27 update, 359 bodies had been recovered and hundreds of people remained missing. Search-and-rescue operations continue as families face tremendous loss and many affected communities remain difficult to reach.

Our deepest condolences go to all those who have lost their loved ones in this devastating tragedy. May the departed souls rest in peace, and may all those affected find strength, comfort, and hope during this incredibly difficult time.

Urgent Help Is Needed

* Medicines, first aid, and healthcare

* Hygiene and sanitation supplies

* Support for displaced families and vulnerable individuals

The NEPALESE ASSOCIATION OF HOUSTON (NAH), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Nepalese immigrant community in Greater Houston for more than two decades, is organizing this humanitarian effort with the support of CREATIVE NEPALI SOCIETY, GULMI SAMAJ HOUSTON, and GREATER HOUSTON NEPALESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
