Emergency funds for a US visa, lost to Florida a con-man!

I’ll keep this brief - in June of this year, I entrusted my new work visa for the US to a comedy producer I’d worked for in Daytona Beach, Florida. I paid him the money and the amount aligned with my own research into the costs etc, and he presented himself as an avid and active supporter of my career so I trusted him.
However, after 3 months of evasive hostility and callous deception - and his cancelling a meeting with an immigration lawyer at the last minute without informing me - it became apparent I’d been defrauded out of a significant amount of money by a known con-man who never had any intention of using my money honestly - and I’ve wasted 3 months of my life.
In the Daytona Beach area alone, this individual has also defrauded two other individuals in the comedy scene, and been arrested for assaulting another. This, plus my being a British national, makes me realise what I’m up against - and that I probably won’t see that much-needed money returned to me.
I’ve never done one of these things before, but several friends suggested I give it a go - if you or anyone you know can somehow empathise with my situation and can chip in a small amount to help me recoup some of the money I’ve been defrauded of, I truly would be eternally grateful.
